About this Event

Join Sunday Times bestselling authors Simon McCleave and Tim Sullivan for this very special event celebrating the art of crafting a perfect M**der mystery for National Crime Reading Month.

Simon McCleave is a multi million-selling crime novelist whose Snowdonia-set thrillers have earned him a loyal fanbase. Before he was an author, Simon worked as a script editor at the BBC and a producer at Channel 4 before working as a story analyst in Los Angeles. He then became a script writer, writing on series such as Silent Witness, The Bill, EastEnders and many more. His first book, , reached number 1in the Amazon Bestseller chart and sold over 400,000 copies. His subsequent novels in the DI Ruth Hunter Snowdonia Series have all been Amazon bestsellers. He has sold over 3.5 million books to date. In 2025, Simon released a new series of books featuring a retried detective, Frank Marshal.

Tim Sullivan is a crime writer, screenwriter and director who has worked on major feature films such as the fourth Shrek, Flushed Away, Letters to Juliet, A Handful of Dust and Jack and Sarah. His crime series featuring the brilliantly persistent DS George Cross has topped the book charts and sold over a million copies worldwide. Stephen Fry says, 'I am insanely in love with George Cross,' and the Daily Mail called George Cross 'one of the most iconic British fictional detectives of the 21st century'.

National Crime Reading Month is an annual initiative spearheaded and developed by the Crime Writers’ Association. It runs throughout June, this year in collaboration with The Reading Agency. It promotes crime reading right across the genre through bookshops, libraries, and venues such as museums and theatres, as well as online.

This event is perfect for avid crime readers and aspiring writers alike. There will be a Q & A and books will be on sale on the day via cash or card.
