Self-confessed late starter Simon Marks began his career at with an invite to perform as part of the West Coast Blues and Roots Fringe Festival, having been a fisherman, baker, offshore sailor and all manner of life beforehand.
From this start Simon continually hit the road performing hundreds of shows, releasing 5 independent albums along the way collaborating with some of the nations finest musicians including Ben Franz (The Waifs) Syd Green (Kasey Chambers) Danny McKenna (Jeff Lang) and Hamish Davidson (The Davidson Brothers).
Whether performing festivals, house concerts, art galleries, barns, bars and everything in-between, including one time aboard a sinking ship! Simon Marks is nothing if not adaptable.
Of late Simon was a ‘Artist in Residence’ via The ACRE Project to create new works, finding himself following in the footsteps of previous ACRE Project recipients including Kutcha Edwards and Neil Murray.
Often spontaneous, always entertaining, Simon’s live shows feature songs and stories that are occasionally sad, though more often funny, and are a true joy to be part of and experienced at least once in your lifetime.
