Have you ever wanted to create your own gemstone sterling silver pendant or ring? Join us for a two-hour silversmith workshop at Flourish in Biddeford, Maine. Local Artist, McKenzie Mungai will walk you through the basics of getting started with sterling silver and guide you through the steps to achieving the perfect piece of jewelry that will last a lifetime!
McKenzie has been handcrafting custom sterling silver gemstone, fossil and sea glass jewelry since 2016. She will bring years of knowledge and expertise to this workshop. This is a beginner friendly course and no prior experience is needed.
In this hands-on workshop, we will cover the basics of soldering and the steps to hand fabricate a bezel stone setting in sterling silver. You will learn how to texture, file, form, solder, sand and polish your one-of-a-kind piece. Each participant will be working with a cabochon to create a stone setting, which can then be finished as a pendant or ring! you can be as creative as you like! Of course, there will be examples, but this is ultimately your piece and my goal is to make your dream come to light.
All materials are included in this class and you must pay in full at time of registration.

Class Materials Include:
Diverse selection of gemstones for your cabochon setting
· Sterling silver sheet metal and bezel wire for crafting your cabochon setting
· Sterling silver round wire for crafting a ring band, should you opt for one
· Essential tools such as torches, solder, and pickle acid for fire scale cleanup
· Hammers and mandrels for shaping and sizing
· Jewelry saw and files for hand forming your piece
· Dremel and grinding/polishing bits for intricate finishing touches
· Tumbler for achieving the beautiful luster and shine to your masterpiece
