Classroom Seminar & Mock Ride
Looking for something new to do with your horse?
Maybe distance riding is the sport for you!
What is distance Riding?
It is an equine sport where you ride a predetermined course within a specified time frame. Distances start at
25 miles and go up to 100 miles in one day. Intro and Novice rides are 5 to 15 miles.
How do you get ready to go?
This clinic will introduce you to distance riding. We will discuss electrolytes, vital signs, conditioning, what to expect when you get to a ride, Vetting-in, how to present your equine at final Vet checks at the end of the ride, and MUCH more. And of course, the rules. We will show you how to finish like a pro!
Participants will receive homework upon signing up.

During the ride, there will be a pre ride, half-way and post ride vet check. For the safety of volunteers, there will be no hands-on evaluation of the equine, only discussion.
‘Vetting-in’. (For the safety of your horse, Vetting-in happens every 10-15 miles, at official rides veterinarians verify your
horse is fit to go.)
