Join us for a geological exploration of the Niagara Cuesta in Bruemmer County Park!
About this Event

Join us for a geological exploration of the Niagara Cuesta - the eastern dip-slope associated with the Niagara Escarpment - just before its Silurian-aged dolostone plunges underneath the waves of Lake Michigan.

The tour will be led by our expert geologist, Dr. Donald Mikulic, who will share the geological history of this unique park. Hear about the geological processes which created these rocks and how glacial and erosional forces have manipulated the many riverine corridors that cut across the Cuesta to offer exposures of this material. Don will also share stories of how this rock was so very important to the area's historic lime and stone industry.

Pre-registration is required and payment must be made at time of regisration. Limited to 25 participants. Register no later than October 1st.

Event to be held (light) rain or shine. Refunds only if the trip is cancelled by NERN. Wear appropriate shoes and protection for weather, study shoes, your camera, and water.
