Silk Painting with Brittany Clifford @ The CAMP Gallery
About this Event
Visit The CAMP Gallery from 12-2PM on Sunday, June 28th alongside exhibiting artist Brittany Clifford, from our exhibition Swathed in Color, Line and Stitches , for a beginner friendly Paint on Silk Workshop.
This workshop is designed as an immersive, hands-on experience exploring painting techniques on silk using fluid inks, texture, and optional batik-inspired methods. Participants will learn how silk absorbs pigment differently than canvas or paper, creating soft movement, transparency, and layered effects.
Participants will explore the fundamentals of painting on silk through guided demonstrations and individual experimentation. The workshop will cover silk preparation, ink application, layering techniques, water diffusion, salt textures, and optional wax resist methods.
Materials will be supplied by the artist and the gallery, we look forward to seeing you there.

Brittany Clifford is a self-taught abstract artist hailing from Westchester, NY. Now residing in sunny Miami Beach Florida, Brittany is driven by a deep passion for art and design, she pursued her studies at the Fashion Institute of Technology, focusing on Fashion Design and Textile Design. Brittany’s artistic journey began as a means of self-expression, where she found in painting a direct and unfiltered way to convey her innermost emotions. Her large-scale works are characterized by the use of watered-down acrylics, spray paint, and oil pastel, allowing her to craft dream-like, ethereal compositions that captivate the viewer. Brittany describes her creative process as a pursuit to communicate what words cannot: "I create to be seen, I create to be experienced.”
