Join Atelier Bogoria’s Silent Reading Session on Thursday 24 September (Part 1) and Sunday 18 October (Part 2). With the author Twasiima Bigirwa we'll dive into her latest book - The Weavings of Life: a collection of stories. The Weavings of Life lends a reflective tableau into the lives of Ugandan women existing in contemporary times as they shuttle between feelings and experiences of loss and yearning, thriumph and grief and face the contradictions of home, belonging, culture and faith.
We're excited to welcome Twasiima in person to introduce the book, her story and spark the conversation.
In between, we read together in silence.
With a glass (or two) of delicious South African wine & small bites.
All at the cosy I Scream Coffee in Leiden.
For Part 2 on 18 October, we'll come back together with Twasiima, just before she leaves The Netherlands, to celebrate our shared reading experience. No need to have finished the book by then. It's not an exam, just conversation.
