Step away from daily demands into a contemplative time of silence, and personal renewal. This six-day, five-night silent directed retreat offers an unhurried space to listen more deeply — to yourself, to God, and to what matters in your life.
The Retreat Center is set on the peaceful grounds of Sacred Heart Monastery, inviting you to a time for rest, prayer, and quiet reflection in the Retreat Center Chapel, the prayer labyrinth, the Way of the Cross, and the gardens and grounds of the Monastery.
The retreat begins with afternoon arrival on Tuesday, June 23, followed by an evening orientation to the facility, its amenities, and some practices of silent retreat. Silence begins after the orientation and continues throughout the week.
Spiritual direction is scheduled daily; the remaining time is unstructured. The Benedictine Sisters welcome participants to join them daily at Lauds (morning prayer) and Vespers (evening prayer), and at Eucharist on the days when it is celebrated. Participants dine separately in a silent dining area. The retreat concludes after the noon meal on Sunday, June 28.
Space is limited; early registration is encouraged.
Cost: $600 (private room, all meals, four spiritual direction sessions, and retreat resources)
Deposit: $100, refundable (minus 10% convenience fee) until June 1, 2026
Retreat Leader: Sister Edith Bogue, OSB, is an experienced retreat leader and spiritual director, serving people from a variety of faith traditions. She relocated to Sacred Heart Monastery in 2020, bringing her experience in Oblate and Vocation ministries, medical social work, research and college teaching. A gifted speaker, she accompanies people as they listen for God’s voice in their lives, and offers wisdom as they seek to respond.
