About this Event
What is Silent Book Club?
We meet fortnightly, downstairs at Oldham Library, from 17:30 – 18:30. (There will be signs around the event.) Bring your own book and read in companionable quiet. It’s like an Introvert Happy Hour!
What do I bring?
Bring your current read, or choose one when you get here. Bring a friend, or come by yourself. You can book online or just drop in.
How silent will it be?
We’re meeting in public, so there will be some ambient noise. Feel free to bring headphones, book lights or ear defenders if you want. We read together quietly with no expectation of talking.
Do I have to read?
You can read anything in any format, or bring along homework, writing, art or craft – anything you can work on quietly!
Fancy a chat?
Feel free to stay afterwards and socialise – but there’s no pressure to do this, and the club will officially end after an hour of reading.
