In order to run as an Independent for the folks who are in the “middle” Tracey needs to collect 5,000 signatures as opposed to only 50 if she ran with a party.More:
Tracey Tackett believes the strength of our country starts with the strength of our communities.
For more than 20 years, she has worked to promote the place she calls home — not because it was required, but because she genuinely cares about the people who live there. She believes that being a good neighbor, lifting up others, and showing pride in where we live can change how people feel about their community and their future.
Some have joked that Tracey has promoted her community more on social media than government outlets have over the years. They’re probably right. She does it because it matters.
Her years of public service as a servant leader, Commissioner, and Assistant Mayor of Springfield have given her a front-row seat to how government works — and where it fails everyday people.
She has seen firsthand that most Americans live in the middle. They are tired of the political rhetoric, the constant polarization, and the endless games in Washington that leave families feeling ignored while nothing meaningful gets accomplished.
Meanwhile, resources continue to concentrate at the top, leaving working families with less and communities with too little support to solve the problems they understand best.
Tracey believes it’s time for a different approach.
She believes more decision-making power and more resources should be placed closer to the people and communities they affect. Local leaders, families, small businesses, and neighborhoods often know the solutions — they simply need a federal government willing to trust them and support them.
That is the mindset and perspective Tracey will take to Congress.
She is running as an independent voice for the middle — focused on people over politics, solutions over rhetoric, and communities over party agendas.
