In August 2026, Belfast Mela will present Earth Child — a breathtaking new outdoor performance bringing together aerial dance, live music, fire, storytelling and over 200 community performers at Titanic Slipways.

Created by ArtsEkta in collaboration with Fidget Feet Aerial Dance Theatre and co-created with storyteller Gráinne Holland, Earth Child is a powerful story of hope, balance and connection inspired by the forces of Air, Water, Fire and Earth.

We are looking for people from all backgrounds to join one of the show's elemental tribes and become part of this extraordinary experience.

What are the Elemental Tribes?

The Elemental Tribes are at the heart of the performance. Representing the forces of nature, each tribe helps bring the story of Earth Child to life through movement, procession, costume and visual spectacle.

You don't need any previous performance experience to take part. We want you to just come along and become part of a memorable large-scale production.

Who Can Take Part?

We welcome:

• All ages however children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult
• People from all cultural backgrounds
• Community groups and individuals
• Those with an interest in performance,culture or outdoor events
• Complete beginners and experienced performers alike

What Will I Be Doing?

Participants will:

• Carry props that represent the elements of Water, Air or Fire
• Walk in a procession as part of one of the elemental tribes
• Join a cast of professional artists and community performers from across Belfast
• No committment is required - just turn up on the day and take part!
