On Saturday 14th March 2026, Ramble will bring together club and community for a common cause, whilst offering guys a great, rugby themed day out.
The 2025 event set the success bar high, with over 250 guys taking part, a fantastic total of over £17,000k raised for our local hospice service, and some amazing memories made along the way.
In 2026 we are repeating the success of ’25 and offering two route options for our Ramblers but, for the same valuable reason…
OPTION 1: The Regular Rugby Ramble
10 mile cross county route starting and finishing at Sidmouth RFC, taking in three pit-stops along the way.
OPTION 2: The Riverside Route (5 mile)
5 mile level riverside route, starting at Sidmouth RFC, tracking the River Sid path along The Byes to the official Sidmouth Hospice at Home pit-stop at Sidford, and back.
Sidmouth Hospice at Home is the charity funded, specialist hospice service supporting adults living with life limiting illness across Sidmouth and the wider Sid Valley community.
It’s an independent service that’s considered to be innovative – because specialist clinical care is delivered to patients at home – and it’s also exemplary, with the ‘Sidmouth Model’ viewed as an example for positive change.
Whilst it represents excellent value for money, in the coming year it will cost more than £1million to fund the specialist, 24/7 palliative service for the community.
Funding is a challenge for all hospice services, but unlike their counterparts across Devon, and the majority country wide, our local hospice service does not receive any government funding to support our costs. It’s a service funded entirely by the community, for the community, making it all the more remarkable and the pride of the Sid Valley.
Demand for services continues to grow and the charity simply can’t do it without your support, so please, sign up, set off, sponsor and let’s make a great day out a success for club, community and charity alike.
Every donation makes a difference.
