The Bookstore Plus is pleased to host author, Julie Canepa, for a book signing event on Saturday, July 6, 2024, from 3-5 PM to autograph copies of her book "The Missing Star”.
About The Book| “The Missing Star,” delves into the remarkable story of Vladimir and Kitty Munk, Holocaust survivors who met during World War II and vowed to reunite after the war—a promise they kept for over six decades. Vladimir, a former biology professor at Plattsburgh State University, shared his incredible journey in the documentary “Return to Auschwitz.” Julie’s novel uncovers additional stories and memories from Vladimir’s life, offering readers a poignant and inspiring narrative of love and survival.
About The Author| JULIE CANEPA is the author of the Emmy Award-winning 2021 documentary, “Return to Auschwitz: The Survival of Vladimir Munk”. The documentary was filmed in 2020 when Julie accompanied Czech Holocaust survivor Vladimir Munk to the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz in Oswicim, Poland.
Julie’s work has appeared in numerous publications including ADIRONDACK LIFE, NORTHERN HG&L, and her blog, SMALL TOWN GIRL PRODUCTIONS. Julie currently resides in the Adirondacks with her family.
