Sidetrack Bookshop presents horror author Teagan Olivia King in conversation with bookseller Megan B. Teagan's new book, Spit Back the Bones follows a woman returning home to solve her brother's cold case and facing the ghosts of her town and her family's past. The novel mixes horror and romance for a gripping story that Hannah Whitten called "gruesomely romantic."

About Spit Back the Bones

For fans of Midnight Mass comes a haunting new horromance. Something dreadful is festering in the old Thomas Bog. For years, it’s done what it has been taught to do—it swallows. But it’s done following orders.

It’s been three years since Mila Thomas’ brother Jed went missing and his case went cold. Since then, Mila has fled town, running from the voices of the dead that reach her from the depths of the old family bog, afraid she would hear her brother’s among them.

About Teagan Olivia King

Teagan Olivia King grew up in Michigan’s wild Upper Peninsula but traded in the stormy shores of Lake Superior for the wind-beaten sandbars of Lake Huron. She holds a degree in Creative Writing from Northern Michigan University and is the author of several works of short horror fiction. She lives in an old farmhouse with her beloved, a rescue pup named Remus, a black cat named Chester, who may or may not harbor the soul of some long-dead deity, and probably some ghosts.

Event Guidelines

After the event, Teagan will be available to sign copies of her book for attendees.

Parking is free in the Center Street Parking Garage located just north of Sidetrack Bookshop with entrances on both Washington and Center Streets for the first two hours and 75 cents per hour thereafter, Monday-Saturday.
