About this Event
October SideQuest: Clarity Quest - Who Owns What?
You have a lot on your plate. The question is how much of it actually needs to stay there.
As businesses and organizations grow, responsibilities have a habit of piling up. The owner becomes the salesperson, problem-solver, recruiter, marketer, decision-maker, administrator, and the person everyone comes to when they are not sure what to do next.
Even after building a team, that workload does not always disappear. Sometimes we delegate the task but keep the decisions. Sometimes two people think the other person owns something. Sometimes nobody knows what “done well” actually looks like.
This Clarity Quest is a practical, interactive networking experience for business owners, organizational leaders, nonprofit leaders, and people managers who want to create more clarity around their work and the people around them.
Rather than starting with job titles and organizational charts, we will start with the work itself.
What are you carrying?
What actually requires you?
What could someone else own?
Where are unclear expectations creating unnecessary work?
And where have you delegated responsibility without actually giving someone the authority to make decisions?
Through activities, conversations, and the usual SideQuest-style networking, you will explore how to better organize the work around you, clarify responsibilities, and identify opportunities to get things off your plate without losing sight of what matters.
You do not need to do everything.
You need to know who owns what.
During the featured Guild Hall experience, you will:
Map the Load
Take stock of the work, responsibilities, decisions, and recurring tasks currently sitting on your plate.
Clarify Who Owns What
Identify where responsibilities are clear, where they overlap, and where work keeps finding its way back to you.
Set the Rules of Engagement
Explore what people should be able to own, decide, and move forward without waiting for your approval every step of the way.
Visit the Adventure Board
Share a current challenge and connect with people in the room who may be able to offer experience, ideas, resources, connections, or support.
You will leave with a clearer picture of what actually requires your attention, what can be delegated or shared, and where better expectations and decision-making authority could take some weight off your plate.

We are here to exchange side quests, share hyper-fixations, ask for help, and find new people to co-op with. Leave the sales pitch behind.
