Sibling Grief and Professional Grief Resilience Training
About this Event
The Training
This two part training is made up of two components:
This first component is our Sibling Grief Training. This data and evidence based training shines a spotlight on Sibling Grief. We will explore the long term mental health impact of sibling grief, and practical steps that we can all take to provide the best level to support to brothers and sisters under 18 years old.
The second part of our training is a life coach developed component on Professional Self Resilience. This part of the training provides a rare opportunity to self reflect as a professional, to ensure that our own responses to grief are understood, ensuring that we can offer the best level of support to Bereaved Siblings. We will be navigating 'empathy' and 'boundaries' and understanding what they mean, to us.
*please note - the second component of this training is not intended as a therapeutic session, but an opportuntely for structured self reflection to ensure that we are able to offer the best level of support possible to Bereaved Siblings and their families.
Our Objectives to This Training
This training recognises that no matter how long we have been in our role, we are all human. We work alongside Bereaved Siblings and their families, providing support to them through one of the most traumatic events of thier life. We have to remain professional at all times, yet underneath, our work will often bring up personal thoughts and emotions that relate back to our own experiences with grief.
This training is designed to provide an opportunity, designed by a life coach, to reflect on our own journey with grief. Through this we ensure that we can walk back into the workplace, ready and able to deliver the best level of support to Bereaved Siblings and thier families.
We achieve this by also exploring what grief means to Bereaved Siblings, using data, feedback and case studies from Bereaved Siblings themselves.
