Shulgin Farm in Lafayette, California, stands as one of the most significant sites in the modern psychedelic renaissance—the home and laboratory where Alexander "Sasha" and Ann Shulgin conducted their groundbreaking research from the 1960s through the early 2000s.

Here, hundreds of novel compounds were synthesized and explored, MDMA was reintroduced to therapeutic practice, and the systematic study of consciousness-expanding substances flourished. As psychiatrist Gary Bravo observed, "That was a magical place. There is nothing comparable to it in the world that I'm aware of."
