Join us for an immersive northern Balboa experience in the heart of Umeå, Sweden!
Escape to a cozy, boutique Balboa weekend where crisp northern air meets a warm, joyful, and welcoming local community.
Shuffle Up is designed to level up your Balboa skills: feel comfortable dancing to any tempo, polish your movement quality, and explore connection and playfulness across different styles, textures, and rhythms.
This will be a tiny, intimate, but high-intensity Balboa weekend packed with learning and social dancing.
7.5 hours of classes across 2 levels (Intermediate and Advanced)
A special taster with Alberto and Elena
3 parties, including a cozy Sunday Tea Dance with tasty local desserts and snacks
Two inspiring teaching couples bringing unique styles, both sharing the love for Balboa:
Elena & Alberto (Italy) are known for their elegance, lightness and flow.
Henrik & Oksana (Sweden / Ukraine) love playing with rhythms, energy and experiment with the partnership call and response.
Two venues for Classes and Parties :
Classes and Friday party will take place in Folkets Hus, the modern cultural center of the city.
Saturday & Sunday parties:
Saturday’s party and Sunday’s Tea Party will take place at Ordenshuset (Skolgatan), a cozy, historic, and lively wooden house right in the city center. Serving as a cultural gathering hub for over a century, it is the natural party place of Umeå's swing dance community.
The Tea Party: A relaxed hybrid of social dancing, chatting with friends, and tasting delicious Scandinavian pastries.
Note: All parties are included in the full workshop pass. Door tickets will be available via Swish.

By Air: Just a 1h flight from Stockholm (multiple daily flights via SAS and Norwegian). The airport is very close to the city center with smooth public transit. (Note: Convenient connections from Helsinki too!)
By Train: A picturesque 6h travel from Stockholm (sj.se)
By Car: A scenic 7-8h drive north from Stockholm, passing by the High Coast (Höga Kusten).
By Bike: Well... maybe save the epic cross-country cycling trip for July! 😉
