Join us for an author talk followed by a Q&A with the WGA's Regional Writer-in-Residence, Lee Kvern. About the Talk (in Lee's words): "I’m in my fourth decade as a writer. Over the years, I’ve been fortunate enough to mentor with numerous professional writers. They taught me the craft of writing that made the difference in my writing languishing tragically (haha) in my desk to publishing four books and oodles of short stories over these past thirty years. And with luck I can save you that first tortuous decade I spent trying to learn the craft of writing on my own before I got serious and looked for outside help. Come join me for an hour of writer chat and open Q+A. We will talk craft. We will talk publishing. We will talk writer sh-t : )
Lee Kvern is the award-winning author of four books, various chapbooks and oodles of short stories. Her stories have garnered the CBC Literary Award, Alberta + Western Magazine Awards, plus more. Her work has been shortlisted and/or nominated 23 times. She has won 12 awards. Kvern’s latest novel Catch You on the Flipside is out now. Works have been produced on CBC Radio and for the Globe&Mail. Short stories have been published in numerous literary magazines across North America.
