ShRIek: The spooky science of the paranormal
About this Event
Do you believe in ghosts? Steve McNeil (WiFi Wars) is in the strange situation of not believing in ghosts, but having seen one, twice. Earlier this year, he learned of the Ri’s strange historical relationship with the occult and paranormal from the Ri Demo Team’s Michael Cutts.
In this unique show, presented for the first time this Halloween in the Royal Institution's Faraday Theatre, the two men will tell the long-forgotten tales where science and the paranormal have intersected, both at the Ri and elsewhere.
They will attempt, with the help of real historical artifacts from the building's collection, to recreate the science that has led previous speakers to the conclusion that, sometimes, there may be more to this world (and building) than meets the eye...
Not for the faint of heart, this atmospheric and unnerving show will attempt to contact, communicate with, and reveal spirits, using the scientific tools available to those Victorian pioneers.
