Experience the Divine Chariot Festival of Lord Jagannath

Witness the sacred procession of Lord Jagannath, accompanied by his elder brother Lord Balabhadra, sister Mata Subhadra, and Sudarshan Chakra, as they travel in a beautifully decorated chariot through the streets of Aylesbury.

Inspired by the world-famous Rath Yatra in Puri, this timeless tradition brings the divine blessings of the deities directly to the people. Devotees and visitors can participate in pulling the chariot, singing devotional songs, enjoying cultural performances, and sharing in the festive atmosphere.

The Significance of Jagannatha Rath Yatra

Jagannatha Rath Yatra, also known as the Festival of Chariots, is one of the oldest and most revered festivals in Sanatana Dharma. The festival symbolises the journey of the deities from their temple abode to the residence of Maa Gundicha, spreading compassion, blessings, and spiritual upliftment to everyone they encounter.

Traditionally, the chariots are constructed from carefully selected sacred wood and handcrafted by skilled artisans. Once adorned with colourful decorations, they become the focal point of a grand procession that brings together thousands of devotees and well-wishers.
