The Second Annual Snowman Spin-A-Thon will be held on February 1! Teams of 2, all ages, all genders, all abilities welcome! We have collected many prizes from local vendors - there will be prizes for most miles ridden, best team costume, best team name, youngest team, oldest team, and many more! The race is 20 minutes total - each rider can ride once during that 20 minutes - you decide how you'd like to divide the 20 min!
Saratoga Shredders is currently raising money to purchase a fleet of mountain bikes to donate to Saratoga Springs High School for their PE program! The SSCSD athletic director has approved bikes in PE class K-12 in Saratoga. We have already donated 6 fleets of balance bikes to each of the 6 elementary schools for kindergarteners to learn to ride bikes in PE, a fleet of pedal bikes for the grades 1-5 children, and in Fall 2024, we donated a fleet of 30 mountain bikes to Maple Ave Middle School! We have $8,000 to raise so that we can donate a fleet of 30 mountain bikes to the SS High School in Fall 2025!
We hope that, by introducing cycling to the PE program across the entire district, this will create an equitable experience for ALL kids to ride bikes and enjoy the emotional, social, and physical benefits to riding bikes with friends.
