We're back to start 2026 with a fantastic little screening! We've got stop-motion animation, comedy, thriller, suspensful drama, horror, 2D animation and even an interesting (comedic) take on the dangers of trusting AI to advise you!
The filmmakers will also be there to answer questions about their films and introduce them. It's a great way to do some networking and meet filmmakers who are actively making material, right here in our region!
We will be raffling off some cinema tickets, posters and film memorabilia as well - you can get tickets for £1 each or £4 for a strip of five!
Join us - it's still a free event to attend!
Here is the programme for the evening:
Hello - Dir. Sebastian Roberts, 2025 - 3.43
While waiting for a bus, a man begins receiving strange phone calls with unusual sounds. As the calls persist something sinister and supernatural lurks towards him.
Channel Flicker - Dir. Monty Stocker, 2025 - 3.30
Sick and tired of the same old ads? Well, no more. In today's advertising world, it’s sell sell sell - where all content is geared to get you spending. Delve into Channel Flicker, and explore how the media manipulates and persuades, through absurdist performance. Are you buying it? Shot and edited by Tommy Spence Arnold.
Backseat Driver - Dir. Louis Lampard, 2025 - 6.52
A disorganised woman enlists the help of an online AI life manager, ‘Backseat Driver,’ to get her life in order …but the AI turns out to be utterly useless.
Clocked Off! - Dir. Rebecca Schott, 2025 - 4.58
An overlooked, middle-aged office worker enacts her petty vengeance on her ignorant colleagues in this dark comedy of small-scale rebellion.
Penny - Dir. Jamie H. Scrutton, 2025 - 1.18
This is a witty animation based on mine and my partners beautiful cockapoo. If dogs could talk, this would be her message to us.
The Accidental Exhibitionist - Dir. Jamie H. Scrutton, 2025 - 1.04
This is how everyone needs to celebrate their 80th birthday: shamelessly bungee jumping.
Ghost Wanderer - Dir. Michael Clater, 2025 - 10.14
An eerie investigation into a series of road incidents.
Booked - Dir. Ty Green, 2025 - 14.30
In a world where books are banned and reading is rebellion; one undercover journalist dives headfirst into the underground literary scene, and quickly finds out he is in far deeper than he ever imagined.
The Trees Have Eyes - Dir. Charlie Johnson, 2025 - 6.16
Among a mystical forest of ice and snow, a hunter reaps the consequences of what he sows. Produced by James Wiseman.
Requires Improvement - Dir. Sima Sheibani, 2025 - 13.49
Requires Improvement follows Ellie, a student teacher in a secondary school, who gets a nasty shock when her attitude and behaviour catches up with her. Written, co-produced and starring Natalie Yates.
