Shoulder to Shoulder: Building Community Through Men's Sheds

Join us at our Annual General Meeting to learn about Men’s Sheds Lethbridge & Coaldale with guest speaker, Mark Vella. This grassroots community initiative focuses on improving mental wellness and reducing isolation through friendship, purpose, mentorship, and meaningful hands-on projects. What began as a simple weekly coffee gathering has rapidly evolved into a growing movement of men supporting one another while giving back to the wider community through woodworking, community partnerships, volunteer initiatives, and social connection. This presentation will explore the history and impact (nationally, regionally and locally) of the Men’s Sheds movement, the growth of the local organization, its objectives and activities, and the importance of creating spaces where people feel valued, connected, and empowered.
