Now in its 12th year, one of Northbridge’s most beloved holiday traditions is returning to Church Street on Saturday, November 29th. The annual Shop Small 01588 Holiday Hop celebrates the spirit of shopping small and handmade, featuring a carefully curated mix of local artisans and small businesses who bring creativity and craftsmanship to the heart of Whitinsville.
From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., visitors can explore two neighboring buildings — 110 and 116 Church Street — transformed into festive marketplaces filled with local talent. Shoppers will find flowers and plants, stained glass pieces, handcrafted wooden signs, home décor, handbags, accessories and wellness products, candles, ceramic Christmas trees and mugs, silver jewelry, freshly roasted coffee, European-style jams and jellies, organic teas, hand-painted cards and photos, an assortment of greeting and holiday cards and so much more.
Guests are invited to pick up a Holiday Passport at either building entrance, collect stamps from all vendors, and enter to win a Grand Raffle featuring handcrafted gifts from participating makers. No purchase is necessary to participate.
In addition to shopping, attendees can enjoy coffee, tea, and wine tastings, along with a fun make-your-own holiday gift tag station and selfie station — adding an interactive touch to the day.
Every year, this event brings people together — not just to shop, but to celebrate the artistry and hard work of local makers. It’s a reminder that when you shop small, you make a big impact in your community.
Passports can be picked up at either 110 or 116 Church Street, and visitors are encouraged to look for the red balloons marking the entrances.
With unique handmade gifts, local flavors, and a warm community atmosphere, Shop Small 01588 is the perfect way to kick off the holiday season and celebrate the best of Whitinsville’s creative spirit.
As the Shop Small 01588 Holiday Hop wraps up, organizers encourage visitors to head down Church Street to the Town Common to continue the celebration at Northbridge’s Annual Holiday Tree Lighting, a cherished evening tradition that perfectly caps off a day of local holiday spirit.
Shop Small 01558 Holiday Hop is hosted by Milltown Merchants, a collaboration of three women-owned small businesses — Katalina’s Boutique (Kathleen Tonry), Little Man Originals (Christine Guanipa), and The Crafty Nest DIY (Lesley Woods) — dedicated to fostering community and supporting local entrepreneurs through creative events. They host three annual events - Shop Small 01588 Holiday Hop (Nov. 29th, 2025), Ladies Night (March 20th 2026), Sidewalk Sale (June 20th 2026).
