Shooting Stars choir was formed in September 2022. A choir director- Eileen Foley - went looking for a choir. Having put out tentative feelers for hopeful members, the promise of bright lights and jazz hands was irresistible to the initial few brave attendees. Soon word of mouth spread and lo and behold it grew legs. Fast forward two years later and we can now aptly describe ourselves as a hard -working, fun loving four -part choir that just LOVE to sing. Someone told us that you improve your brain power by singing, while this may be debatable, one thing is certain, we forget everything when we sing (not the words,obviously…just things, your worries and cares).In 2023, we were asked to perform our Christmas programme supporting Community events in Dunboyne, Ratoath and Dunshaughlin which also included repeat invitations to Avoca and to Fairyhouse Racecourse which were great experiences and a whole lot of fun.
In June this year we were honoured to be asked to support Kathy Kelly as part of her European tour, this focused the choir to another level of discipline and was also a valuable stepping stone to the highlight of our singing calendar to date…. our inaugural Concert on December 12th.
We want to welcome you to ‘A Winter’s Story’ and by default, our story, about how a group of individuals can empower each other and make great music.
We are very excited and honoured to have our fabulous guests Leah Barniville and Pat Coldrick alongside us, both powerhouses in their own right - we promise you a programme of uplifting and beautiful music.
