Shofar In The Park

The sounding of the shofar is a 3,000-year-old Jewish tradition marking Rosh Hashana, the birthday of humanity. Hearing its blast is a profoundly personal experience that evokes different emotions for everyone: a rallying battle cry, a memory of youth, a triumphant symbol of overcoming obstacles, or a therapeutic release of unspoken tears. For those unable to attend traditional synagogue services, a special "Shofar in the Park" event will offer the opportunity to fulfill this essential Mitzvah outdoors.
The gathering takes place on September 13th at 5:00 PM at the Kerry Park Lookout, featuring a short shofar-blowing service followed by Tashlich, all set against scenic views of the city and Puget Sound.
