Shiva, Shakti & Shadow: The Art of Becoming Fully Human
A FREE 90-minute experiential exploration of Tantra, yoga psychology, shadow work, and embodied transformation. PLUS it's a fundraiser for Maria's Literary Foundation!
What if the parts of yourself you’ve been trying to change, quiet, control, transcend, or leave behind aren’t actually the problem?
What if becoming more conscious doesn’t require becoming less human—but more fully human?
Join Dr. Stacy Reuille-Dupont for an experiential evening exploring the ancient Tantric principles of Shiva and Shakti alongside modern psychology, somatic awareness, nervous-system science, and shadow work.
In Tantric philosophy, Shakti represents the living energy moving through us—emotion, sensation, desire, creativity, instinct, movement, longing, and the raw aliveness of being human.
Shiva represents awareness—the consciousness capable of witnessing our experience without becoming completely consumed by it.
And shadow?
Shadow contains the parts of our humanity we have learned should not belong: anger, need, vulnerability, power, desire, grief, ambition, wildness, tenderness, sexuality, rest—and sometimes even joy.
What we cannot consciously experience doesn’t simply disappear. It often begins shaping our lives from outside our awareness.
During this 90-minute experience, we’ll explore a different approach to personal transformation:
Shakti → Shadow → Shiva → Embodiment
Rather than trying to conquer, suppress, or “fix” ourselves, we’ll explore how to develop the awareness and capacity to stay present with our experience, understand the protective intelligence behind our patterns, and create enough space to consciously choose what happens next.
This won’t be only a lecture.
Together, we’ll move between ancient wisdom and contemporary psychology through:
• Tantra and yoga philosophy
• Shiva and Shakti as a framework for understanding consciousness and human experience
• The psychology of shadow and unconscious adaptation
• Nervous-system regulation and why insight alone often doesn’t change behavior
• Breathwork and embodied practices for experiencing both aliveness and awareness
• A guided shadow-work exercise to uncover what you may have learned could not safely belong
• Witnessed Embodiment, a practical process for moving from reaction toward awareness, choice, and embodied change
• Reflection on purpose, relationship, nature, and what it means to participate consciously in your own life
No previous experience with Tantra, yoga, meditation, psychology, or shadow work is necessary.
Come curious.
Come as you are.
Bring a journal, something to write with, and a willingness to encounter your own humanity with a little more curiosity.
This gathering is for yoga practitioners, spiritual seekers, therapists and healers, embodied practitioners, earth guardians, and anyone asking deeper questions about consciousness, purpose, transformation, and what it means to live a fully inhabited life.
We do not need to become less human in order to awaken.
Perhaps awakening asks the opposite of us:
To inhabit the body.
To feel what moves through us.
To meet what we have exiled.
To become conscious of what has been choosing for us.
And to participate in our lives deliberately.
