About this Event
Like any right-minded people, we’re disgusted, terrified and disheartened by the recent racist riots across the UK. Vile images of communities being attacked and burned down in the name of division, hatred and ignorance feels like a depressing step backwards. ‘Not again, surely?’
We figured that rather than moan and whinge about it in back-room, back-patting meetings, we ought to take direct action. We have plans to put on a great night of music to take anti-racism back into the community with a charity event, Shipwreck The Fascists.
All proceeds will be donated to and .
Keeping an anti-fascist agenda in the public consciousness right now is key. Let’s not forget what caused the riots; dangerous rhetoric and complicity from the political and media elite - let’s not bow to their divisive tactics.

About the music:
: exist as a melting pot where the surreal meets the sublime. Since releasing their first EP, 'Something in the Water' in 2016, the band have continuously expanded their sound and scope of influences to create a world where sparkling pop wonders are nestled between Spanish Civil War laments, gypsy arias, and chaotic, shambolic odes to drinking, death and everything in between. "Spaghetti Western with a Liverpool jangle... great surf-noir-shanty" - Chris Hawkins, BBC 6Music
: If Gintis are a sleeping giant of North Walian wonky psych pop, you could be forgiven for thinking the Abergele Goliath had slipped into a coma in recent years. Signs of life came with singles Dennis, O My Little Malcontent and Four Movements - all of which gained BBC radio play and sparked excitement among the band’s loyal following of devotees. Hope Is All We Have signals the end of a long wait, recorded and produced by Bill Ryder-Jones in his West Kirby studio.
: Spacey grunge and fuzzy weird love based in Liverpool. The band's album 'Songs for the End of the World Party' was realeased in May 2024 followed by their latest, gazey single, Hopscotch in August. Broken Down Golf Cart masterfully juxtapose moments of lo-fi, washy sweetness with punky crunchiness.
: With a pocketful of singles and a critically acclaimed E.P. under his belt. 2021 sees the release of his debut album ‘Balcony Boys’ on newly founded Loominance Records. Since releasing Modern Voodoo back in April of 2018, Ali Horn appeared on Liz Kershaw’s BBC Radio 6 Music show twice, the following single Dreamers was in June selected as one of 6 Music’s Tune of 2019 So Far and he appeared live in session for the likes of BBC Introducing and Janice Long on BBC Radio Wales. No longer one of Liverpool’s best kept secrets, Ali toured the UK extensively last year, After ending the year with his biggest headline show to date in his hometown of Liverpool, Ali is back writing and recording new material.
