About this Event
Come along to the first screening of the Shifting Landscapes Film Series at Story Space, Yarrila Place, in partnership with Emergence Magazine. The series feature a collection of short, thought-provoking documentary films exploring humanity's unfolding relationship with nature. Each screening is followed by a short post-film discussion on ways people can connect and contribute to building a more sustainable world.
Across transport, housing, food production and fashion, civilisation is driving climate and ecological breakdown. To bring civilisation into harmony with the natural world, we must return to seeing humanity as part of nature.
Shifting Landscapes is directed by Emmy- and Peabody-nominated filmmakers Adam Loften and Emmanuel Vaughan-Lee. The docos follow a musician, a poet, a writer, and a filmmaker who are each embracing the alchemical power of story to connect and transform us as our landscapes change and disappear.
Emergence Magazine have been at the forefront of gathering stories that explore the connections between ecology, culture, and spirituality. They publish an annual print edition featuring a collection of essays, interviews, poems, artwork, and photo essays, and have recently co-produced a series of short documentaries that illuminate these connections.
