Come and learn everything you need to start having connective tying experiences with a partner or by yourself! This 2 hour workshop will start with a heavy emphasis on safety information that's important for both tops (people tying) and bottoms (people getting tied) to know before moving on to hands-on, follow-along exercises. We will cover essential knots and frictions, go over some foundational patterns in Japanese style rope bondage, and end with open practice time so you can start to work the skills into your hands! The skills taught in this class can be practiced on yourself or on another person, so come with a partner, try to meet a new friend here, or tie on yourself!What to bring: Wear comfortable, non-restrictive clothing that isn't super loose or bulky (athletic wear works great). Rope will be available to borrow and the presenter will have safety shears on hand, but if you have bondage rope feel free to bring your own!
Presenter bio: Ava (aka HazardousWaist_) has been an active member of the local kink community for over 15 years. She developed a passion for shibari as her primary creative outlet and a means of connecting with her tying partners. For her, rope is a communication tool and a way to build experiences together with a partner. In 2022, she began presenting, performing, and volunteering at rope conferences and events as a way to give back to a community that has taught her so much.
