2025 Tulsa Kayak’s Bass A Thon Rules
You will need to sign a 2025 wavier when you check in at your first event. Wavier is good for the entire season.
All events start @ 6PM and end at the announce lines out time.
They are jackpot events with a $20 entry fee. 75% of the pot goes to first place, 25% goes to Big Bass.
Events with at least 20 anglers will also pay $50 to 2nd place.
Rules for the events are pretty simple as this is intended to be an entry level competition for kayak anglers.
1. PFD must be worn at all times
2. Kayaks only
3. All events are 3 fish limit
4. We use the BASS and Hobie standards when judging fish. See description below rules
5. Ketch boards and YakAttack Leaderboards only must be used to measure fish
6. Motors are allowed
7. One rod/reel in use at a time
8. Common courtesy while on the water. Any on the water incidents are to be reported to a tournament director and it is the director’s discretion for a fair ruling
9. No prefishing on the day of the event
10. An anglers best 8 finishes are counted for AOY standings. (in the event of a tie, it will go to the angler with the most first place finishes. If still a tie, it will go to the angler that finishes the best at the season finale
Each fish photo needs to include the following criteria to avoid possible penalties or disqualification:
a) The entire Bass, from the tip of the lip to the end of the tail, on an approved measuring device.
b) Assigned unique identifier code must be visible.
c)One overhead photo shot frame (not shot at an angle).
d)Fish must be clear of any holding devices including fishing lure or hook.
e) Lip, eye and tail end cannot be obstructed in the photo, even by your hand or identifier. Coverage by your body will impact your score. Covered eye can lead to a disqualification of the catch and the angler will need to submit a better legal picture.
f) If you have a fish with a damaged eye or the appearance of a dead fish then you’ll need to record a video of the catch on your KETCH Board, pick the fish up and identify the area(s) of concern, then of the fish placed back into the water and swimming off alive.
g) Hand and fingers must not be in the gill plate.
