Once inseperable friends at their elite boarding school, Lillian and Madison have barely spoken in the years since Lillian abrubtly left in the wake of a scandal. That is, until Lillian receives a letter from Madison pleading for her to take on the role of caretaker for Madison's twin stepchildren. However, there’s a catch: the twins spontaneously combust when they get agitated. Lillian is convinced Madison is pulling her leg, but it’s the truth. Figuring she has nothing to lose, Lilian accepts and over the course of one humid, demanding summer, Lillian and the twins learn to trust each other. She ultimately comes to realize that she may need them as much as they need her.
