🐩The Shear Determination Grooming Competition is back and bigger than ever this year !
This is a low pressure practice grooming competition - perfect for dogs needing positive experiences and groomers who want a practice run before entering the big shows! This is also a great way to brush up on your skills between Barkleigh grooming competitions.

Winners will receive a Rosette as well as a prize basket.
Entry is $65, we are limited to 12 entries. To reserve your spot please make your payment by April 14th.
We have 4 large, and 2 small tables available for use. You are welcome to bring your own table!
Morning Competition
9:30 - Check in
10:00 - Contest Starts
11:00 - Sally Break - all dogs must have a break and be taken off of the table. Dogs must be allowed outside to use the bathroom if they are comfortable to do so.
11:15 - Return from Sally Break and receive judge feedback and guidance
11:20 - Contest continues
12:20 - Scissors down
1:00 - Winners announced

1:30- Check in
2:00 - contest starts

3:15 - Return from Sally Break and receive judge feedback and guidance

FAQ
-Should I bring my own table?
We have 4 large, and 2 small tables available for use. You are welcome to bring your own table!
-What breeds are allowed?
Any breed is welcome. Don't have a poodle? Show off what you can do with a Pomeranian in a creative trim, a Collie in a show groom, or your brothers double bernedoodlecockapoo in a mohawk! Everything is welcome!
-Can I prep my dog on site?
We have a limited amount of time before check in where a couple people could prep their dogs. Contact Liz Jackson if you want to sign up for a 7:30am or 8am bath slot
-Where do I park?
On the street parking , free parking on memorial day.
-Can my friends and family watch?
Yes! We will have a seated area setup for spectators
-How much hair growth should I have?
The more dramatic the change, the better! There is no limit to the amount of growth necessary to compete, but if you want to get an experience close to the big leagues you should have minimum 6 weeks of growth.
-Can I bring my dog to watch?
Only dogs who are participating in the grooming competition may attend.
-Can I sign up to groom 2 dogs , one in each competition?
Yes!
-Where can I put my dogs when we are not competing?
We have limited room in the spectator area for kennels. We have two medium-large sized kennels available. You are welcome to bring your own kennel to contain your dog, granted they are quiet. Well behaved dogs can be on leash with a guardian human. We encourage people to crate their dogs in their cars if the dog is comfortable that way.
