SHAW AND THE HORNS OF THE DILEMMA
About this Event
This lecture forms the second half of The Shaw Society's annual Shaw Crawl and will be zoomed out live from the heart of Bloomsbury. This year's theme is Morality & Immorality and Dr Philip Wilson will explore Shavian dramatic dilemmas with a focus on Major Barbara. Alexis Leighton will read extracts.
'Drama often works through the dilemma. To be or not to be? This lecture places George Bernard Shaw & Major Barbara into dialogue with some philosophical dilemmas and asks if Simone Weil may not be right in saying that contradiction is at the heart of philosophy'
