FRIDAY & SATURDAY, MARCH 13 & 14: Shaun Eli is one of America’s smartest comics, known for delivering clever, clean comedy that finds big laughs
in everyday life. He has headlined shows on five continents and starred in The Ivy League of Comedy: Live from the Emelin Theatre (Amazon) as well as Seasons 1 & 2 of QuickLaffs (Netflix). His jokes have been quoted by outlets ranging from the New York Post and Reader’s Digest to Healthcare Finance News, and his work has been featured in Reform Judaism Magazine, The Christian Science Monitor (cover story), CNN, CareerBuilder.com, and The New York Times, which profiled him in 2021. His acclaimed group, The Ivy League of Comedy, was the subject of a front-page story in the Philadelphia Inquirer. Shaun’s sharp, topical material has also been used by late-night hosts for nearly two decades, and Jay Leno has publicly cited Shaun’s work as a prime example of “smart comedy.”
Beyond stand-up, Shaun brings an unusually rich background to the stage. He is a graduate of the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, an award-winning economic forecaster, an instrument-rated pilot, and a former lifeguard instructor. He was also a world-class athlete in rowing and dragon-boat racing. Offstage, Shaun is deeply committed to sustainability, running an office powered entirely by renewable energy.
Shaun’s comedy style is intelligent, upbeat, and universally relatable. Whether he’s talking about job interviews, dining with vegetarians, the Ten Commandments, or even fighting a parking ticket in criminal court, he proves that ordinary life becomes extraordinary when viewed through a comedic lens. With over 20 years of stand-up experience and 30 years as a professional comedy writer, he delivers clean, thoughtful humor that resonates equally well in theaters, corporate events, colleges, and religious institutions.
