Shattered Shores sets sail for its debut voyage September 9 to 13, 2027, bringing alternative rock, pop-punk, metal, and indie music to the open ocean aboard the brand new Margaritaville Beachcomber, navigating to Taino Bay.
Shattered Shores brings people together through live bands, dj sets, artist-led experiences, themed parties, unique activities, and much much more! Whether you are coming solo or with friends, you will find a community that feels like home from the moment you step on deck.
The voyage takes Captains (attendees) to Taino Bay, where tropical views meet resort-style amenities, including a golden sand beach, a large pool with a swim-up bar, a lazy river, and more. Just steps from the port, downtown Puerto Plata invites you to explore vibrant Dominican culture. Enjoy local coffee and yaniqueques as you walk along colorful Umbrella Street or shop for handmade treasures. For those looking to adventure, take an excursion to the historic San Felipe Fortress, hike and swim through waterfalls, or discover nature on a thrilling ATV tour.
Shattered Shores is produced by Whet Travel, in partnership with So What?! Music Fest and Idobi Radio Summer School, bringing together some of the most influential names in the scene to curate an electrifying event.
Whet Travel is an independent event company with a proven track record of producing full-ship music charters for more than 6,000 guests. Whet means “to excite,” and it’s the core of everything they do. Their flagship event, Groove Cruise, now sells out months in advance and is known as a transformational journey at sea, delivering immersive programming, world-class artists, and unforgettable artist-fan interactions.
Shattered Shores was born from that same passion. The concept stems from Taking Back Emo, created by Whet Travel Managing Director John Porrata. What began as a single party on Groove Cruise Cabo 2022 quickly became a standout favorite, evolving into multi-day programming across recent sailings, including special performances by Ryan Key of Yellowcard on Groove Cruise Miami 2026.
The Beachcomber enters her maiden season in 2027, offering a fresh, modern cruising environment designed for just under 3,000 guests, creating an intimate and approachable setting at sea. With 10 thoughtfully designed stateroom categories, each space is crafted to elevate your time at sea, including standout options like the Bridge Wing Suites with expansive terraces overlooking the bridge.
Throughout the ship, you’ll find more than 15 dining options and 11 bars and lounges, including the first-ever artist-designed live music venue at sea, and the world’s largest 5 O’Clock Somewhere, a multi-deck poolside destination with tropical drinks and island-inspired bites.
Across four days, Shattered Shores delivers live bands, DJ sets, immersive activities, artist-led experiences, themed parties, and an atmosphere that blends festival energy with the freedom of the ocean.
