The Kleinert James Gallery in Woodstock is pleased to present “Sharing the Space,” a dialogue about landscape that features five Byrdcliffe landscape painters from the early 20th century, exhibited alongside 16 contemporary women photographers.

About Sharing the Space:
This exhibition brings together historic landscape paintings from the Byrdcliffe collection, curated by Anne Arden McDonald, in a dialogue across time with 50 vastly different landscape photographs from 16 contemporary women artists, all sharing the space of the Hudson Valley. Curator Anne Arden McDonald notes: “Throughout time, people have sought solace in nature in search of beauty and quiet, although each generation expresses this desire differently”.
About the Women Photographers Collective of the Mid-Hudson Valley:
Women Photographers Collective of the mid-Hudson Valley is a membership organization that promotes community building, networking, mentorship, and opportunities for presenting and exhibiting work. The 24 members have had 6 group exhibitions in 2 years, including: Lace Mill Gallery, Kingston; Davis Orton Gallery, Hudson; Olive Free Library Art Gallery, Olive; Wired Gallery, High Falls; Vanda Gallery, New Rochelle; and currently at Circle 46 Gallery in Hudson.

The Woodstock Byrdcliffe Guild is a regional center for the arts located in Woodstock, New York.
