About this Event
Sharing Hope: A Community Conversation on Mental Health
Join us for an intentional and culturally grounded evening centered on healing, dialogue, and community connection.
This event will feature Sharing Hope, a three-part initiative launched by the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), designed to destigmatize mental wellness and create pathways to healing within Black/African American communities. Rooted in collective wisdom and empowerment, Sharing Hope creates space for open conversations about mental health through storytelling, guided discussion, and practical tools for support.
Together, we will explore:
- Youth and Mental Wellness: “How Do You Heal?”
- Community Leaders and Mental Wellness: “The Art of Healing”
- Black Families and Mental Wellness: “Smiling on Our Journey”
This experience is not a traditional lecture or presentation. It is an opportunity to engage in meaningful dialogue, reflect on lived experiences, and participate in healing-centered conversation — for us, by us, and about us.
Participants will gain:
- Greater understanding of mental health signs and symptoms
- Tools for finding the right therapist and building a “support squad”
- Access to culturally relevant mental health resources
- A safe, supportive community space for honest conversation
Whether you are seeking support, information, or simply a space to listen and learn, this event is designed to foster healing, empowerment, and connection.
We look forward to welcoming you.
