I’m Jeri aka Sugahqueen the artist. I’m originally from Los Angeles California but moved to NJ in elementary school and went to ridge avenue elementary. I sing and play ukulele and dabble in a ton of other artsy activities like painting, drawing, cake decorating and more. I am from the area but I left after I graduated high school. Went to College in NY (CIA) and lived in CT for years afterwards. I started becoming an artist in CT and doing shows. But this will be my first local event since coming back home so this is me introducing myself to the local music scene here.

I play a lot of different genres and I have about an hour of originals. I like to play to my audience and since this event is in the area where much of my family called home a huge chunk of their lives, I want to honor culture and keep my set list to African American artists. So I’ll play an original song or two, but mostly R&B and soul covers. The sing alongs.

Thanks, I’m Jeri, come out, share and create art with me. Something different to do this Saturday night. Still open to more vendors but we have an Author, a Painter, Stylists. And we have Tipsy Cupz coming down to serve infused drinks.
