Shaping the Future of Employment Support in Liverpool City Region

We are bringing together partners from across Liverpool City Region’s (LCR) employment support system to help shape a new, locally tailored model of employment support.

Work is underway to design a transformative approach to employment support that utilises new devolved powers and future funding flexibility to better meet the needs of residents, employers and providers.

This work is being led by the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority, with AMION Consulting and Kada Research, and is rooted in co design with the full employment support system.

This interactive workshop is an opportunity to hear emerging thinking and directly contribute your insights to the next phase of design.

Who should attend?

We welcome colleagues from across the employment support ecosystem including employment support providers, training and skills providers, local authorities, health partners, community and voluntary organisations, career services, employer facing teams, and businesses.

The aim is to reflect the full system that supports residents into and within work.

What to expect

During the workshop, we will:

• share progress and emerging priorities from the work to date;
• explore the developing pillars to accessing support;
• test key themes such as integration, data, and partnership working;
• work together to shape design principles for the future model;
• identify risks, challenges and how these can be overcome; and
• gather your insights, challenges and practical experience to help shape the next phase.

Your experience and insights will help ensure the model is practical, inclusive and grounded in the realities of delivery.

About the workshops:

This workshop is one of four in a series of place based workshops that will be held across Liverpool City Region. It includes:

• Wednesday 29th April 2pm to 4pm – DCBL Stadim, Halton.
• Thursday 30th April 2pm to 4pm – Shakespeare Playhouse North, Knowsley.
• Tuesday 12th May 10am to 12pm – Firefit Youth and Community Hub, Liverpool (L8)
• Wednesday 13th May 3pm to 5pm - Mallory Building, Birkenhead, The Wirral.

The content will be consistent across all workshops, so please attend whichever session is most convenient for you.

A short briefing note will be shared in advance to support participation.
