About this Event
Digital tools are transforming behaviour change communication, enabling health initiatives to go wider and deeper—reaching broad audiences while tailoring messages to the needs of different segments. Studies found that online health information helps people make informed decisions by encouraging them to seek care, ask better questions during consultation, adopt healthier lifestyles, follow treatments, and share decisions with health professionals. Social media features have been found to boost usage; increase perceived social support, motivation, and satisfaction, and directly influence health behaviours—demonstrating its strong potential for public health applications.
Combined with the capabilities of digital platforms in capturing and enabling real-time audience engagement, applying social listening and deliver AI-driven personalization, these tools are allowing public health messages to be more targeted, timely, and effective in influencing behaviour. The 2025 UCL Behavior Change Conference further highlighted how digital and AI-driven tools can improve the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of behavior change interventions.5
This session will explore how digital tools, paired with trusted community voices, can inspire healthier behaviours at scale. In conversation with global experts, we will examine evidence, innovations, and program designs that integrate multi-channel strategies into health initiatives that are both impactful and inclusive.
