Ready to take a meaningful step toward something bigger?Join us for a full-day, hands-on Explorer & Member Workshop for Dakota Prairie Commons—an energizing and collaborative day designed for those who want to play an active role in shaping South Dakota’s first cohousing community.
This workshop marks an important milestone in our journey. It’s a chance to learn together, build relationships, and begin shaping the foundation of the neighborhood we’ll one day call home.
Who This Workshop Is For
This workshop is designed for Dakota Prairie Commons Explorers and Members.
If you are not yet an Explorer, you are still welcome to attend—Explorer status is required to participate, and the $200 Explorer fee will be completed as part of the registration process. This fee includes your workshop participation and opens the door to deeper involvement in the forming community.
Becoming an Explorer is the best way to engage fully, meet future neighbors, and help shape what Dakota Prairie Commons will become.
What the Day Will Look Like
During this interactive and welcoming workshop, you will:
• Learn how cohousing works and why it’s a meaningful way to live
• Explore the Dakota Prairie Commons vision and upcoming development milestones
• Participate in guided group conversations about values, priorities, and hopes
• Build relationships with fellow Explorers and Members
• Take part in early design and planning conversations that will influence how the neighborhood takes shape
Why This Day Matters
By the end of the workshop, Explorers will have the opportunity to become Equity Members, gaining priority home selection and a more active role as we move toward development.
This is where curiosity becomes commitment—and where a community truly begins to take shape.
