About this Event
Le Nozze di Figaro - Comedy opera- A young couple who use deception and disguise to overcome obstacles to be together.
ABOUT THIS EVENT
1. Attend a fun, casual on-line class that will teach you the ins and outs of this art form, the opera's exciting backstory, the salacious and often tragic details about the composer's life and more!
2. Friday night welcome reception (optional-registered class participants)
3. Saturday dinner (optional/additional cost)
4. Attend a breathtaking performance at The Metropolitan Opera House (30 Lincoln Center Plaza, New York, NY 10023)
5 . After the opera meet on a roof top bar to toast the stars both on the stage and in the celestial. (optional/additional cost)
6 . Sunday brunch and farewell (optional/additional cost)

HOW IT WORKS
Purchase your opera tickets. Tickets are on sale now. Ticket prices vary from $35 to $415. (see below)
Register and pay on Eventbrite for the opera experience(s) master class, pre and post opera events and dinner, then buy your opera ticket directly from the Metropolitan Opera House (see below).
After registration the Shances team will contact you about your dinner order, hotel accommodations (if applicable), pre-event meet and greet, seating suggestions, what to wear and other details.
VIRTUAL CLASS
The class will cover opera basics, the history and often scandalous life of the composer, and the opera’s backstory and modern touchstones. Although not mandatory, class attendance will enhance the opera night out experience. Attendees will receive a zoom link two weeks prior to the class.
We have people from all over the country attend our virtual classes and then fly to New York for live performances. Having a virtual class allows for greater participation and access.

FRIDAY NIGHT WELCOME RECEPTION
On May 16, 2025 enjoy a free casual reception with a glass of sangria and bites. All while getting to know the other opera goers.
Location: Participants will receive the location and time of the evening reception two weeks prior to the event date.
This is only open to registered class participants.
SATURDAY DINNER
Prior to the opera, enjoy an elegant dinner at the opera house coordinated by the Shances team. Dinner must be pre-ordered. The Shances team will guide you through the order and payment process ($150 for a 3-course meal. Price includes tax and tip).
INTERMISSION DESSERT
During the first intermission the group will meet again for dessert at the Grand Tier restaurant located within the opera house.

OPERA TICKETS
Attendees must buy their opera tickets directly from The Metropolitan Opera House.
If you are unfamiliar with the seating/staging at The Met (view obstructions including those upstage and in the wings), it is strongly suggested that you call 212-362-6000 and talk to a Met seating agent rather than buying your ticket on-line at www.metopera.org
