Dan is a Biddeford native who was part of the fourth generation of his family to work at the Pepperell Mills, and fifth generation to attend St. Mary's Church. He graduated from St. Mary's Grammar and Biddeford High Schools before earning his baccalaureate from the University of Notre Dame and a law degree from the University of Kansas. Dan retired after a thirty-five years career at the NCAA, where he spent the final twenty-five years as Vice President of Division III.
Dan, his wife, Karen, and their dog, Charlemagne (Charlie), split their time between Biddeford's Mill District and Carmel, Indiana. His presentation will focus on the evolution and forgotten influence of Biddeford's Irish community from the mid 1840's until 1890.
