COME AND CELEBRATE 8 YEARS OF BEERS!
This May, join us as we celebrate our 8-Bit-anniversary (or 8th anniversary) and 9th rendition of #ShakesbeersShowdown, a gamer-themed night of epic proportions, a daring winner-takes-all/loser-drinks-most battle to see who will be crowned the ultimate Shakespeare cold-reading champion. Toronto’s hottest indie theatre companies face-off in this live massively multiplayer RPG, a battle of Shakespeare’s notoriously difficult First Folio (the Contra of Shakespeare).
This player vs player quest celebrates failing with flair through line flubs and mispronunciations, with each K/O round bringing the victor one step closer to the ultimate title. The winners advance to the next round, the losers…get a lot of beer.

Shakesbeers is a one-night-only annual fundraising event for the SOTMSC Shakespeare-In-Hospitals program which strives to eliminate physical, economic and social barriers to community engagement encountered in the health care sector, by using devised performance and classical text. This popular event sells out each year, so get your ticket now to ensure Active User status (i.e. to make sure you’ve got a seat! )
