Shake Your Trail Feather Paddle Parade

Paddle with us to celebrate the beautiful Bayou Teche National Paddle Trail! Our whacky Paddle Parade will start at 10 a.m. at Poche’s Market. (Day-of registration at Poche's is at 9:20 a.m.). We will paddle 4.5 miles (about 2 hours) from Poche's to Parc des Ponts in Breaux Bridge.

Tickets are $30 in advance. Day-of tickets on-site are $35. Kids under 14 paddle for free. Ticket includes a Festival Pin with the 2026 bird the Red-Bellied Woodpecker and a one-year membership to The TECHE Project. There will be a Pre-Paddle Shuttle ($5 cash at the bus) from Parc des Ponts. First shuttle leaves at 9 a.m.; there will be a second shuttle if needed. Bands on decorated barges will accompany paddlers down the bayou to set the mood! Starting at noon, there will be food trucks, libations, merch sales, kids activities and live music by Chubby Carrier and the Bayou Swamp Band until 2 p.m. for FREE at the park. Invite friends and family to have lunch with us, watch the paddlers come in and support The TECHE Project.

We are doing our popular free merchandise raffle for paddlers and a ticketed kayak raffle at 2 p.m. Also, make sure to dress like a bird to win more prizes!

We ask that the parade be limited to non-motorized watercraft. See our website for kayak rental info.

Please note that registration does not include kayak rental, lunch or shuttle.

This event is a fundraiser for The TECHE Project. Proceeds go toward building the Bayou Teche National Paddle Trail, which provides access docks and other amenities for paddlers in the 15 towns along Bayou Teche.
