Alexis Martin, our guest speaker, works as an educator for the Hutchinson Zoo, where she takes care of education animals as well as assists with camps, community outreach, and other educational programs at the Zoo.
Martin will present on the roles of bats as an ecosystem service species. Current studies are looking at the influence of bats on the ecosystem in terms of what services they provide.
Bats are often overlooked when discussing the impacts of species that play essential roles in maintaining ecosystem health, despite being the second largest order of mammals and one of the most diverse groups of mammals.
