Shadows of a Regime
About this Event
This collaborative concert brings together Ng Yu-Ying and Ang Chek Meng of YST Quartet-in-Residence T'ang Quartet, alongside YST cello faculty Professor Qin Li-Wei, YST alumni Martin Peh and Cho Hang-oh, in a programme exploring two landmark chamber works shaped by Russian nationalism and its artistic legacy. Spanning the late Romantic and contemporary periods, the concert pairs Alexander Glazunov's richly expressive String Quintet in A major with Pēteris Vasks' deeply reflective String Quartet No. 4, offering audiences an opportunity to experience contrasting musical responses to history, identity and cultural heritage.
