About Pooja Gaitonde : With a strong foothold in traditional knowledge of Raagdari, Pooja’s Sufi compositions leave an indelible impression because of the energy that emanates from her consistent search for true and living expressions. She was indeed fortunate to have been honed classical vocal under the tutelage of Lt.Pandit S.C.R.bhat; the doyen of Agra Gharana. She completed her Visharad at the age of 14. She has been trained by Ustaad Ibrahim Darvesh for her Urdu pronunciation which appeals to the literate audience. The credit of her Sufi Gayaki goes to Ustaad Munnawar Masoom; a veteran Qawal. In 2014, she gave her first live solo Sufi performance with her self developed concept; RANGREZA. Thereafter, she developed the concept of Sufi Jazz with the Jazz exponent Louiz Banks. She was invited by veteran actress Shabana Azmi and Manish Malhotra to perform a live Sufi Set for Mijwan Fashion Show. Times Music released her individual ghazal album “EHSAAS KI KHUSHBOO”. Pooja is a recipient of Sur Jyotsna National Music Award and was felicitated by former CM of Maharashtra Devendra ji Fadnavis for the same. A gold medalist at the all India University level representing Mumbai University. She was recently invited to perform with the legendary Music UK based Composer Sami Yusuf as an Indian solo vocalist for the prestigious DUBAI EXPO. She has collaborated with many DJ’s; songwriter’s; Lost stories , Sweden based music producer Shahrukh Khan to name a few which focussed on merging few original Sufi compositions with Electronic Dance Music (EDM). The track with Lost Stories was played in Tomorrowland ; Belgium and was well appreciated by the Gen Z’s. At present, Pooja focusses to work on working on a world music project and releasing her original tracks.
